The Whole Plant

Colorful carbohydrates are found in the many fruits and vegetables grown around the world. 

 

Carbohydrates are creations of plants.  

Their importance to life can never be overstated. 

 

Air and food are products of plants.

 Without plants the human miracle of life would be aborted.

 

 

Foods can be categorized into groups based on the predominant pigment they contain.

There are other phyto-nutrients that are bound up with the plant's polysaccharide core. These phytocompounds are also advantageous to health. 

.

I grouped the foods into Red, White, Blue, Green and Colorless out of spectral deference. 

Each group's color reflects the totality or library of compounds contained in the plant.

 

Phytonutrients are extracted from food during the process of digestion or is provided in an already bioavailable form like dietary supplements and juices. 

Once free of its polysaccharide shackles and de-complexed, these phytonutrients are used by the body during normal and reparative functions.

 

It is important to note that the process of refining food, removes these very valuable nutrients.

 

 

 Diatribe

Pharmaceutical science isolates an active compound in the expectation of altering and patenting it. They want power with minimal side effects.

Natural Healing on the other hand, depends on the whole plant. Since its impossible to know the contribution of any one component care, none should be removed

This statement pretty much sums up the difference between botanical and pharmaceutical medicine.

Drugs are single, isolated, solitary compounds derived from plants.

Botanicals on the other hand, are the complete libraries of compounds some of which offset side-effects and makes it less powerful.

Libraries contain multiple versions of the same compound.

The library concept explains the complicated chemistry that rules bioactivity.

In essence, a library is Nature’s RAID array. The compounds are its data.

Simultaneously backing up active molecules and creating alternative ones.

 

These molecule very often bind with human receptors so any change in micro-structure can produce a change in effect. 

The molecules and the structures they bind with are the biological equivalents of data. Within the data, are certain sequences that lead to one effect while other sequences lead to others.

A ligand binding to a receptor is the signal that begins every action.

Bindings then are the on/off switches of Nature. the 0s and 1s of the body. The yin -yang of the Universe.

 

Balance or moderation is the hallmark of plants.

Pharmaceutical drugs have a much more powerful effect because drugs have no moderating influence other than dose.

 

Multiple versions of the same core provides stability and safety to botanicals.

These cures are far less powerful than drugs because drugs consist of only one active agent.

Drugs possess power, uniformity and strength.

They also produce serious side effects, which are countered by other drugs
